Chimney Sweeping
Chimney & Flue systems should be swept at least once a year, to ensure they are safe for use. Coal fires are recommended to be swept twice yearly & wood fires every season that it is in use. Build-up of soot & tar can be dangerous causing not only chimney fires but carbon monoxide poisoning.
It is also important that you burn the correct fuel. Make sure your logs are seasoned or kiln dryed before use.
Chesterman Chimneys offer a reliable, clean & tidy full brush & vac sweep. We will take the time to inspect your appliance & make sure it is in full working condition. After sweeping your chimney a smoke test is carried out & a certificate of sweeping is issued.
Sweeping one chimney or flue liner can take anything from 30minutes, to several hours for a very dirty one!
If you suspect you have a blockage or brirds nest please mention this when booking your appointment so that I can allow more time for your sweep. If removing a blockage or birds nest that takes considerably longer then a regular sweep then there will be a small additional charge - always discussed first.
